Expect extended sets from a few of our city’s favourite DJs and an immersive light installation by Chalk River Labs. 

Grab a drink from the MPavilion kiosk and watch the evening fade to night.

Chalk River Labs is an award winning Melbourne based studio specialising in projection sculptures. The studio was founded by multimedia artist Jay Tettamanti, and has presented artworks both internationally and in Australia. The studio creates light-based installations through the collaboration of projection, audio and sculpture. Chalk River Labs claimed the People’s Choice Award and the Artistic Excellence Award at the Ephemera Seaside Sculpture Festival in Townsville 2023 for the projection sculpture Night Parrots. – Visit Website

Yeo is a genre-bending Malaysian-Australian musician and producer. With an expansive body of work spanning over a decade, the versatile multi-instrumentalist has explored an encyclopedia of genres; from country to electronic and now arriving at theR&B era of his journey. Yeo has toured internationally, recently gracing stages at ASEAN Music Festival (SG), Esplanade Concert Hall (SG), Iceland Airwaves and OzAsia Festival (AU) and previously supporting the likes of HÆLOS (UK), Giraffage (US), Kimbra (NZ) and Peking Duk (AU).

Vivan Vo aka Small FRY is a Naarm/Melbourne-based artist manager. With a focus on Asian-Australianartists in pop music, she manages Rainbow Chan and Yeo. As a DJ, Small FRY has performed at events for National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne Museum, Liminal Magazine and Healthy Tapes and her mixes have been featured on NTS, FBi Radio, Assemble Papers and Frankie Magazine. As the host of Mooncake on Triple R 102.7FM, celebrating the diverse sounds from Asia and artists of the Asian-diaspora. In 2021, Mooncake won the Community Broadcasting Association Australia Award for Best Music Program.

Big Bao is a collective that throws parties and produces events with careful curation to give a platform to Asian-Australian artists and artists of colour. Founded by three members of the Asian-diaspora community: Angela Schilling (Cookie/Oliver White), Vivan Vo (Small FRY) and Yeo Choong (Yeo).
