Much-loved radio host Jacinta Parsons opens us up to communal silence to provoke reawakening of our listening selves.

We already know researcher, broadcaster and writer, Jacinta Parsons, is a great talker and listener. Now she’s inviting us to shut up and listen intently to the beautiful, clanging hum of the city surrounding us.

Jacinta is fascinated by the idea that deep listening in our urban world has the potential to return us to our essential selves. It’s an act that can disrupt your sensory hierarchies and get you exploring your relationship to the built world—asking yourself questions like, how is sound mediated through the body? What is sound if it is extracted and exists simply as its own entity? And what does the industrial soundscape offer that help deepen our understandings of who we are?

Join us for a stint of silence. You might even reach a fuller awareness of the fact that you exist as both imagination and matter.
