A sought-after composer/sound designer known for electro-acoustic and dark ambient music, stretches a Broadway classic into vast new plains
Tilman Robinson is a composer known for creating uncanny sonic tapestries and wraithlike realms. His skills as an artist have seen him work with artists as varied as Sinead O’Connor, Ben Frost, Nico Muhly and a long list of Australian luminaries. Now, for his Dusk til Dark set, he’s treading the boards back into the fragments of his memory to forge a new path for Barbra Streisand’s ‘People’—a Broadway classic from the 1960s film Funny Girl that continues to echo from his childhood.
As the sun sets over the pavilion, pull up a bean bag as Robinson guides us through this new long-form, textural ambient work.
