Home Ground

HOME GROUND

We lay the welcome mat for ideas that ground and define us.

What does it mean to call somewhere or something home? What binds us and what makes us feel whole? This series goes deep into ideas of belonging, refuge, safety, ancestry, community and connection to Country.  Tadao Ando’s pavilion is the meeting space and a point of departure. We’ll gather among the structure’s shaded symmetries. From there, a diverse selection of artist, designers, thinkers and musicians lead us in far-reaching workshops, performances and experiences that explore essential questions of kinship. Everyone’s invited to come over and dig into the roots.

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the people of the Eastern Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which MPavilion stands. We pay our respects to their Elders, past and present – and recognise they have been creating, telling stories and caring for Country for thousands of generations.
