Space Between & Boom Studios Present: Make Less More

This event is now complete. If you want to revisit the talk, visit our Library, or subscribe to the MPavilion podcast via iTunes, Pocketcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, or wherever else you get your podcasts.

This immersive morning workshop will launch an upcoming art, education and sustainability project from Melbourne design agency Space Between and production partner Boom Studios. A free schools program encouraging sustainable practice and products, the ongoing MAKE LESS MORE project will be repurposing temporary design materials from nationwide retail campaigns and giving them a second life as art supplies and tools to teach.

In this hands-on workshop, Space Between and Boom Studios design experts will provide practical support as they guide imaginative young creators through a fun, simple brief to build something new from something old, as part of a wider conversation around the reduction of single-use materials and the power of creativity.

This interactive workshop is targeted at primary school children of all abilities, but would also suit students of any age who have an interest in sustainability, fashion, art or design.

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the Yaluk-ut Weelam as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet. Yaluk-ut Weelam means ‘people of the river camp’ and is connected with the coastal land at the head of Port Phillip Bay, extending from the Werribee River to Mordialloc. The Yaluk-ut Weelam are part of the Boon Wurrung, one of the five major language groups of the greater Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to the land, their ancestors and their elders—past, present and to the future.
