Celebrate the closing day of the 2018 Melbourne Festival with this live music showcase and party. Melbourne Festival is launched by the First Peoples of the land, and it’s only fitting that it is signed off by our newest arrivals. Our Place, Our Home celebrates the extraordinary range of people making music in Victoria today, with performers tapping musical energies from Congolese, Oromo and Cuban cultures.

Our Place, Our Home springs from Multicultural Arts Victoria’s State of Culture Music Program, which for more than a decade has uncovered the most dynamic and diverse artists in Australia and propelled them into the spotlight. With a line-up featuring seasoned professionals and the vanguard of a new generation, it’s the perfect high note to finish this year’s Melbourne Festival. Performers include: Gadda Band, Ignite, Adrian Eagle, Limbs to Riddims and Sky Voltage.

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the Yaluk-ut Weelam as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet. Yaluk-ut Weelam means ‘people of the river camp’ and is connected with the coastal land at the head of Port Phillip Bay, extending from the Werribee River to Mordialloc. The Yaluk-ut Weelam are part of the Boon Wurrung, one of the five major language groups of the greater Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to the land, their ancestors and their elders—past, present and to the future.
