Open your lungs and feel the simple glow of singing alongside friends and strangers

Ocean Ornob is an artist who’s interested in the warm power that communal singing can have on the central nervous system. He’s created a short morning workshop that’s perfect for all voices — especially for those who’ve never been the first to grab the mic at karaoke.

You’ll be guided together through relaxation breathing and vocal warm-ups, into simple melodies and harmonisation. The progression of exercises is designed to create an atmosphere of open-heartedness and safety. You don’t need any musical skill or training. Just show up with your voice (and maybe a water bottle). Then ease into a space where you feel freer to express yourself and harmonise with others. Chances are you’ll head out into the rest of your morning embracing light and pleasant vibrations.

Collaborator:

Ocean Ornob is a multidisciplinary artist. He is inspired by the power of music as a mode of self-expression, coregulation and connection. He is exploring the role of art, music and movement in the state of being of the nervous system. He is exploring and sharing the somatic techniques and the understanding of the nervous system from an artist’s perspective.

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the people of the Eastern Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which MPavilion stands. We pay our respects to their Elders, past and present – and recognise they have been creating, telling stories and caring for Country for thousands of generations.
