EXPRESSIon of Interest

“M_Curators has been a stepping stone in accessing so many other opportunities – the connections and conversations I had as an M_Curator will shape my career, and I am so grateful for the experience.” — Lily Di Sciascio, M_Curator, 2021

What are

M_Curators are the next generation of art, design and creative workers! They are curious, conceptual and want to gain practical experience in developing and curating public events and programs. M_Curators can come from various backgrounds and interests, but they all share one thing in common—a passion for the arts, design and architecture!

Read about the past M_Curators of MPavilion seasons and their projects here and here.

What do
M_curators do?

M_Curators have the space to explore, create, test and try their ideas through developing events for the MPavilion 2022 season. Guided by two mentors, MPavilion’s creative director Jen Zielinska and program producer Molly Braddon, they gain invaluable knowledge and insights into public programming and curation.

M_Curators develop ideas  and build on them in collaboration with other M_Curators, approach collaborators for events, and eventually bring their ideas to life—and to the public—at all(zone) ’s MPavilion 2022 in the Queen Victoria Gardens!

Past M_Curators have run pot-planting workshops, explored new ways of seeing the city with panel discussions, held dance classes and roundtable conversations about race in contemporary society, and many more!

What will
you gain?

Through the M_Curators program, you will not only get hands-on experience in event programming and professional communication but exposure and connections as you kick-start your career. You will develop relationships with an entire cohort of M_Curators, creating a supportive community of like-minded young people—for your time with MPavilion and beyond!

Who can

This program is open to people aged between 16-25 and under based in metro Melbourne and regional Victoria.

We strongly encourage applications from people that are First Nations, CALD, BIPOC, living with a disability, LGBTQIA+, and from other minority communities.
