For this exciting new installation, MPavilion cuts loose on a curly question that is never straight forward: What does your hair mean to you?
The Hair Salon sees MPavilion Parkade temporarily transformed into a real-life hair salon—and the site of conversations, performances, workshops and hair-styling sessions that will run a fine-tooth comb over the role of hair in shaping our identities, genders, images, perceptions and rituals.
Designed by local artist and writer Atong Atem with Where Are You From? founder Sabina McKenna, the salon is built into the car park, where it plays host to sessions run by HoMie, Short Back & Sidewalks, and a dazzling array of artists, musicians, performers and thinkers.
And because the Hair Salon is also a real hair salon, you can book to get a real haircut or a hair braiding* at MPavilion Parkade, throughout March!
