Maurizio Toscano

Dr Maurizio Toscano is a Senior Lecturer in the Graduate School of Education at the University of Melbourne. His research, teaching and artistic practice focuses on the intersection between art, science and philosophy, with a particular interests in questions concerning the metaphysics of science. Maurizio’s approach to art and research is informed by the breadth of his experiences: his doctorate was in Astronomy and Astrophysics; he has undertaken and supervised research into the role of aesthetics and the scientific imagination in science education; and he has examined philosophically, the role of artistic practice in science communication, climate science and education.
