Mardi Nowak

Mardi Nowak has worked as a Curator, Gallery Director and Collections Manager for over 20 years. She is currently the Head of Visual Arts at RACV, connecting communities with art and creating programs to support social cohesion. Mardi is recognized for her leadership and vision to create a collaborative environment between place, artists and arts professionals to produce unique exhibitions and programs. She has shared her programs and lectures in the UK, USA and recently in Istanbul at the International Design Biennial.

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the Yaluk-ut Weelam as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet. Yaluk-ut Weelam means ‘people of the river camp’ and is connected with the coastal land at the head of Port Phillip Bay, extending from the Werribee River to Mordialloc. The Yaluk-ut Weelam are part of the Boon Wurrung, one of the five major language groups of the greater Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to the land, their ancestors and their elders—past, present and to the future.
