Jemma Burns

As Australia’s most in-demand music supervisor for film and TV, Jemma Burns works closely with directors to craft motion picture soundtracks. This involves working with score composers, commissioning original songs, plus sourcing and licensing existing material.
After breaking into the industry on Summer Heights High, Jemma has gone on to work on 90-odd productions with some of the world’s most renowned production companies. These include ‘Top of the Lake’ (Jane Campion), ‘War Machine’ (David Michod), ‘Okja’ (Bong Joon Ho) and the Oscar-nominated ‘Lion’ (Garth Davis).
Jemma is currently supervising the upcoming productions ‘Stateless’, a series set in a refugee detention centre, starring and produced by Cate Blanchett; and ‘The King’ starring Timothée Chalamet for Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment.

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the Yaluk-ut Weelam as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet. Yaluk-ut Weelam means ‘people of the river camp’ and is connected with the coastal land at the head of Port Phillip Bay, extending from the Werribee River to Mordialloc. The Yaluk-ut Weelam are part of the Boon Wurrung, one of the five major language groups of the greater Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to the land, their ancestors and their elders—past, present and to the future.
