Grace Ferguson

Grace Ferguson is a Classically trained Pianist, Composer and Sound Designer based at Eastmint Studios whose works seek to position the audience in a space conducive to subjective inflections, inarticulate knowledge and felt encounters. She is an active member of the Melbourne based ‘Isolation Improvisation Collective’ and her debut LP release Voler, Music Company (2020) met critical acclaim and reached number #4 on the Australian Independent Record (AIR) charts. In the capacity of pianist and musical collaborator, Grace contributed to the theatre work, ‘We All Know What is Happening’ by Samara Hersch and Lara Thoms which examines Australia’s relationship with Nauru and is performed by seven children/activists. (Best Contemporary/Experimental Performance 2018, Green Room Awards and 2019 Zürcher Theater Spektakel Patronage Prize). In 2019, Grace was one of thirteen women selected in MTC’s ‘Women in Theatre’ program for Composition and Sound Design and works she has contributed to in this role include; The Rabble’s project LONE, Arts House, (2018), ‘Your Heart’s So Hot O Sister’, MMW (2018), and ‘The Readers’, Belvoir Theatre (2018) and ‘A Thousand Times the Rolling Sun’, Beechworth Prison (2018).
