Claudy Knight

Claudy Knight.

Claudy Knight is a Melbourne-based eclectic electronic duo consisting of Adrien Harris (composer/engineer) and Claudette Justice-Allen (songwriter/vocalist). The two draw their influences from the golden era of R&B and soul of the ’60s, ’90s pop and hip-hop, as well as the current LA beat scene and neo-soul movement. Their sound is smooth, intelligent and eloquent, riding in nostalgia yet pushing the sonic boundaries forward. Adrien always creates a beautiful balance between vintage and futuristic sounds along side Claudette’s stunningly soulful raspy voice.

The duo have been writing music over the last five years in their hometown, but their latest EP, which is yet to be realised on Gold Point Records, was written while residing in London. London’s energy is present here and many sounds throughout the EP are reminiscent of the city’s diverse and driven genres.

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the Yaluk-ut Weelam as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet. Yaluk-ut Weelam means ‘people of the river camp’ and is connected with the coastal land at the head of Port Phillip Bay, extending from the Werribee River to Mordialloc. The Yaluk-ut Weelam are part of the Boon Wurrung, one of the five major language groups of the greater Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to the land, their ancestors and their elders—past, present and to the future.
