Arcadia Winds presents an access-all-areas open rehearsal of new Australian works for winds instruments. Ahead of their Australiana concert at the Melbourne Recital Centre on Tuesday 30 October, these five brilliant young musicians will give you a guided tour of the music they love.
Get a sneak preview of two brand new works: Ian Whitney’s Five Scenes, and the winning entry in the inaugural Arcadia Winds Composition Prize. Share insights of how instrumentalists approach learning and rehearsing new compositions, and explore the inner workings of modern masterpieces by Brett Dean, Lachlan Skipworth and Natalie Williams.
The program features: Lachlan Skipworth’s Echoes and Lines, Natalie Williams’s Animalia, Brett Dean’s Demons, Ian Whitney’s Five Scenes, and a work by the inaugural Arcadia Winds Composition Prize winner. In collaboration with Melbourne Recital Centre.
